We wish all of our friends, clients and students a very Happy New Year 2019. Success, joy and good health! We hope you enjoy our Blog post about Depression. Please let us know what you think. email@example.com
"Depression, a disease of our time" does not mean, of course, that what we call depression today would not have plagued people in the past. But depression is typical of our time. All shades and clinical pictures from the slight depressive mood, over the maneuvered or covert depression up to the real manic-depressed insanity, can be found in all layers of our society. Such events are particularly disturbing when they get into the bright spotlight of the public, and then when this happens, newspapers with millions of copies bring articles about this disease
Such articles can remind a broad readership of the fact that, right now, this disease can pose a threat to every family, rich or poor, famous or not. But they can also if they bring kind and helpful thoughts and ideas, give some readers a clue that will make him take the right steps.
If we seriously deal with this agonizing suffering here, we would like to bring as little technical details as possible, for us to be able to understand each other
Interestingly enough is that in most articles about depression we find the little footnotes, which is but in my perception the most critical aspect in all mental illness and this is that real healing of mental illness is only possible if the patient has a real ‘religio’, a “religion” that helps him to receive power from Above. He must have a worldview that is supported by a belief from out of conviction; because gaps that cannot be explained logically always give rise to doubts and uncertainty. Perhaps some readers will object that even religious people can become mentally ill or depressed. That's right, but it's precise because faith did not become a knowing conviction yet.
DEPRESSION In the further explanations, I will try to explain all the shades of depression, as well as the various causes, which then often lead to the same, externally visible disease symptoms. But not only symptoms are to be described here - this can be much better done in professional journals, but I would like to give some hints on how a real and lasting cure can be achieved.
Since depression is a multi-faceted happening that affects the whole person and requires a great deal of active participation from the affected person, there cannot be given a simple recipe to heal all depression. If we are always aware that everything in life is a fluid happening, we come nearer to the understanding of the different depressive states. Now according to the Grail Message (lecture "The Secret of the Blood", www.grailmessage.com ) - something else must be said that can be considered as new or at least astonishing for today's conventional medical model: All so-called nervous diseases, from the slight mental upset to the real psychic abnormality, is accompanied by a change in the blood radiation, which in turn comes from a wrong, or diseased blood composition. One has to imagine this change as minimal shifts in the concentration of active ingredients. But such alterations do not arise from nowhere; for the human organism is continuously endeavoring to remain in balance with the environment. A change in the external situation then initiates a (counter) reaction in this interplay in the healthy body in order to restore the balance. The human organism is a living system, operating according to the same laws that cybernetics found. Each function is leveled by a higher-level feedback mechanism in that strength, which is optimal for the survival. We do not notice most of these feedback processes at all. The reciprocal action begins - involuntarily - and the balance is restored. For clarification: Example 1: Overheating of the body - reaction: perspiration. Episode: Evaporative cooling and restoring of the normal body temperature. Example 2: Danger situation - reaction: accelerated heartbeat. Blood is, first of all, led to the vital organs, especially to the brain. Consequence: reduced sensitivity to pain (the dentist does not hurt the tooth); all body functions are set to ward off the danger. Example 3: The situation of security, relaxation - reaction: dilation of the blood vessels, consequence: the pleasure of food intake - the body is adjusted to regeneration and healing.
We want to take a closer look at the reaction chain in the dangerous situation: The response of the organism to dangerous conditions is the same as in ancient times, when life-threatening dangers existed with natural disasters, in famine and during the fight with wild animals. It may seem absurd to superficially compare us with a prehistoric man who, as an ever-vigilant hunter, had to protect himself and the family and provide them with food, the primitive dwelling had to secure them, but only through constant use of all his abilities in the struggle for survival could he exist. But if one looks at the hardships of today's struggle for life, one must not be surprised that the human organism activates the same chain reaction as with natural dangers in ancient time periods, even if the other person has only the telephone handset in his hand instead of the hand ax.
In recent years, the above-mentioned reaction chains have been studied much more closely, and it has been found that transmission substances in the entire nervous system, so both in the brainstem and the nerve pathways are active. These are, as mentioned above, present in a minimal dose - and yet they are able to affect all our adaptation abilities to the environment. It has been discovered that these metabolizing substances are in a biological "flow equilibrium." This means that the excitement triggered by the stimulus activates feedback, which slowly initiates the calming and restores the balance typically again. Nevertheless, the majority of people in our civilization is not anymore in equilibrium. For this imbalance, there has been found three significant existing signs:
1. The "lowering of the stimulus threshold (one is upset by the" fly on the wall "). 2. Persistence: Banal stress stimuli are not worked through in a timely manner, they persist for too long (e.g., anxiety) 3. The resonance rise: anxiety triggers palpitations, which further increases the fear.
Where the knowing observer identifies these three signs, they inform him that this organism is no longer able to neutralize the environmental stimuli in silent and natural equilibrium. If this condition is considered from the point of view of the blood composition, it follows that a shift has also taken place here with the participation of the carrier substances. But how can the blood composition be improved? How can we find the right path for everyone? Conventional medicine has seen a procedure that seems too plausible for a complete cure, which at best can briefly help in a crisis situation to address the above-mentioned vicious cycle "low stimulus threshold - persistence – resonance rise." It is the wide field of so-called psychotropic drugs.
You cannot open a medical journal without being attacked by advertisements for soothing, emotional feel good and sleep enhancing medications. Not only does one have the choice, much more significant is the torment that rises up in a therapist while reading the lighthearted elegantly written papers but at the same time the therapist finds it hard to suppress the uneasy feeling in regards to the means of help that is advertised. It is downright refreshing when you stoop over a book title like "The healing power of mental balance" or similar. Without going into any book, I would like to confirm from practical experience what these authors, and with them, some behavioral researchers, found: the effect of joyful and up building feelings on hormonal regulation, especially that of the pituitary gland.
Upbuilding feelings presuppose the emotional equilibrium, and that is what the patient should strive for himself. This has the significant advantage that no active ingredient is added from outside, which sets blockages at the switching points of the nervous system, which is, unfortunately, the effect of very many "nerve pills."
These blockages usually affect regular use that the sick patient then has the feeling that he is no longer himself; in fact, the active ingredients stimulate the body's substances - only slightly changed - and also the feedback mechanisms are unlatched, so that the patient no longer reacts by himself personally.
The path to mental equilibrium has to be taken in small steps, one after the other, allowing for the first steps to be taken accompanied with calm, supportive help. As a small example, the following: If you otherwise thought "if the weather changes, I will get again a cold," so you could now think "I have toughened myself up so much in the fresh air. Therefore I will not get a cold." Hundreds of examples could be listed here, and many people would feel as if a mirror was held in front of them. In this regard, we are sitting most likely all in the same boat in regards to a lack of a self-supporting attitude.
Therefore, it is advisable that we change this attitude and, for example, when a task comes up to fulfill, no longer say: “I have to,” “I should.” This is an inner hurdle, the must or should hurdle. Overcoming these “shoulds” or “musts” unnecessarily costs strength. It is better to say just: I will do this or that. Thus, the cliff is elegantly sailed around. After all, every person, everything, every matter has two sides. To find the right side often requires some effort, but it is worthwhile to find it in any case.
We are often forced to live or work together with people whose qualities are difficult or unpleasant for us; even some activities can be uncomfortable for us. But if we imagine how nice and likable the fellow human being may be under other circumstances (maybe we've already observed something like that before), that will make our everyday life more comfortable, but in no case more difficult to bear. For ourselves, however, we have established equilibrium through the constructive mental and emotional orientation we have chosen and in effect on and in the interplay of the subliminal substances of our nervous system, inner balance returned.
Only by constantly striving for it Can it grow, can it blossom. A dialogue between the inner and outer world, Which holds us in the middle. Quite at rest, but not in a standstill, to the contrary. In the intense activity, like a dancer on the rope.
Tensioning, de-tensioning, holding and letting go, A fine working against the inertia of the mass. Being mobile but without senseless haste, Being firm without sinking into stolidness. Wakeful and prudent and yet full of trust, Without anxiety and prejudice and worrying glances. Courageous and certain, not recklessly blind, Otherwise, you fall at the first breath of wind. Delimit yourself without building walls, Thus can you freely look outside And can read on the other’s soul And offer a view of your own being.
Open and devoted without totally melting away, Also not boundless, excessive in one’s own enjoyment, Certain and steadfast without reserved hardness, Respecting the other’s and one’s own values, Letting in and going out in the movable transfer, Not timidly stubborn, not in restless exuberance.
It is a dialogue. An exchange. Sensing of the waves. Being inwardly totally attuned to the question And then finding an answer with one’s own movement, An expression from deepest inner stirring. Thus you do register the weight of the world Because you are now completely in… BALANCE (Beate Kollewe) Interlude end
Let’s return to our considerations. We have arrived at a hub of medical research. Because our thoughts are not material, their content can also not be directly measured by a device, however fine it may be. The effect of the thoughts, however, can be proved by changes in the earthly body, thus made measurable. Perhaps some readers have become impatient and say: "All this has nothing to do with depression, this serious illness of our days." “What has been described so far is only referring to the daily moods." But it is precisely this great field of the daily moods that gives the ground for the great depressions. And if you now accept the world of thoughts as a reality, then for your understanding completely different dimensions will be opened, because this explains one of the most important levels of our life. It is the invisible sphere closest to us. In the lecture of the Grail Message "Thought forms" we find: “Even man’s nearest ethereal surrounding can contribute much to lift up or debase him. This is the strange world of thought-forms, the vital activity of which comprises only a small section of the giant mechanism of the whole Creation. Their threads, however, penetrate both into the Gross Material World, and further up into the Ethereal World, as well as descending into the realm of Darkness. Like a gigantic network of veins or nerve-strands, all are intertwined and interwoven, untearable and inseparable! Mark this well!” Although this may seem strange to some people because he was brought up in the notion that thoughts are "duty-free," the following words may explain to him the actual processes in Creation: “The Living Creative Power which flows through man collects ethereal substance through the volition of a completed thought and molds it into a form which gives expression to the will of this thought. Thus this form is something real, something living, which now, in accordance with the Law of Attraction of Homogeneous Species, attracts what is homogeneous in this world of thought-forms or is attracted by them, depending on the strength it possesses. Just as a thought when it arises is simultaneously perceived intuitively, with greater or lesser intensity, so its ethereal form will bear an equivalent life. This world of thoughts is densely populated. Through the mutual power of attraction complete centers have been formed which, by means of their accumulated energy, exercise a great influence upon human beings. In the first place, those persons will always be influenced who tend towards a similar nature, that is, who bear something similar within themselves.” About this type of force centres, further explanations are given: “Unfortunately, however, it is hate, envy, jealousy, lustfulness, avarice and all other evils which, through their greater numbers of adherents, form the strongest power centres in the world of thought-forms. Far less great are those of purity and love! This is the reason why evil is spreading with such uncanny rapidity…….. Therefore, blessed be the hour when thoughts of pure love will once more take a greater place among mankind, so that similarly strong centres will develop themselves in the world of thought-forms, which can be reinforced from the more luminous spheres and thus not only strengthen those striving towards what is good but also slowly work on darker minds with a gradually purifying effect!” One should let the words above impress deeply on one’s Soul. Even if one cannot see these forms of thoughts, only clairvoyant people are capable of doing that, intuitions in regards to other people we have, find here their explanation. Therefore, the word of the Grail Message "Keep the hearth of your thoughts pure!" is of fundamental importance, it is the essential foundation for a new structure in life. In the consideration and classification of our fellow human beings as well as of our own goals and desires arise thereby different measures. We will begin to feel deeply grateful about people trying to send out helpful thought forms which mutually reinforce each other.
The generation of my grandma often would utter the following lyric as teenagers in the face of the threat of the war, although only with a sense of half-faith according to what was told to me. (The following is my translation from German to English from a poem by Goethe) Cowardly thoughts, Anxious shaking, Effeminate hesitation, Fearful complain, Turns no misery. Does not make you free.
Defy all powers Keeping yourself despite opposition Never to bow, Show yourself in vigor, Call the arms Of the gods to your side.
How beautiful, if one receives the explanation, that there are those poetically described "arms of the gods," the help from higher spheres from the otherworldly spheres, and the understanding that this help genuinely exists. It may not only be surprising to some readers of these lines, but extremely disturbing if I speak here as a matter of fact and without mystical pathos of the many otherworldly activities to which we are also connected to. When I mention such things to my clients, some of them express fear about that.
But we should not be scared that the otherworld is filled with many living beings. We have only unlearned, on the one hand, to receive messages from these spheres and, on the other hand, to influence the world of thought-forms through our own spiritual volition. The consequences of this lost ability adhere to us when we have to discard our physical body - a process called death, which in turn means nothing other than birth into the "otherworld," the finer world. It may seem to some as if these views are inappropriate, even dangerous for depressed people. However, the topic of depression, if it is to be considered from a spiritual point of view, cannot be explained without the involvement of the otherworldly existence. But I'm also entering into an area from which today's conventional medicine research has only gained partial knowledge through the so-called "outsider" disciplines. Moreover, recognition of these findings by most physicians fails because of the impossibility of complete scientific proof, because this must stop at the material (gross) boundary of space and time.
It is here my concern to bring the reader closer to the understanding of the so-called otherworldly sphere and the realization that everything around us is filled with life. They will then also have a different and much more lively relationship with those who have passed on, quite simply because they are shown that they still live, albeit in a different form of existence, with other concepts of space and time. But we must be clear about one thing: the passed over souls take with them also their own manifold entanglements, and the worlds of thought created by them are a manifest reality for them in the "beyond" in which they live. It takes a much more intense effort to get out of such an environment in the beyond than in the gross matter of the earth. If such insights seem disturbing at first, then the more the understanding and the knowledge of the otherworld grows. Also, the feeling of unease will be lost. And at this point, it must be said that at all levels of this creation and in every form of existence for man, help is always there and that it only depends on him to accept it. Let's go back to the souls in the hereafter who have created a dim world through their thoughts and feelings. Again and again, they are drawn - following the attraction of the homogenous species- to the people of this earth who nourish the same thought forms as the otherworldly ones did in their earth time. Now it may come that when a person who is tuned to sad and heavy thoughts, through his dim mood the blood radiation changes significantly and builds a bridge to a soul from the beyond and enables that soul to directly influence the person. This is the actual background reason for the worsening from depression to the real psychoses. The depressive state expression enters thereby into an entirely different phase. It is not to be equated with the initially mentioned, sadly tired state; it is not just a gradual difference. The depressive condition is only the breeding ground on which the true psychosis can arise. I want to list some hallmarks of the real psychosis. 1. Man feels strongly threatened and is unable to exclude/deflect the world of thoughts that depresses him. 2. Almost all speak of a pressure that is exercised on them, and they can physically feel. This pressure is usually located around the large nerve plexuses: Thyroid, solar plexus, head. 3. The facial expression no longer corresponds to the usual personality. The effected person has a "mad" and strange facial expression. (Or even violent) 4. The concentration ability with regular-known activities decreases very much. 5. Man finds no sleep. He is plagued at nights by nightmares and does not want to get up in the morning. 6. The suffering and complaints are expressed by the person with complete hopelessness. Even the affectionate listener is accused of a lack of understanding.
From a scientific point of view, the assertion that real psychosis is caused by influence from departed people would be called a hypothesis. But science, in turn, works with working hypotheses to advance to further insights. In this sense, I would like to try to connect the six above mentioned signs with an assertion. Point 1 (Threat): The patient can almost never give any specific reason for his threat, the severity of the threat is very significant as if the thread comes from another person. But since in the real world no real reason can be found for this threat to the point of a perceived life-threatening threat, the threat is pushed into the realm of delusion. Point 2 (Pressure feeling): The large, involuntary neural networks have always been known as the antennae that absorb and guide on influences that affect us from a finer world instead of the coarse materiality. But as the knowledge about it over the millennia has shrunk more and more, feeling disorders (e.g., psycho-somatic pain) in these body regions are generally explained as disease symptoms, which leads to a complex clinical diagnosis. In fact, permanent irritation of one of these large neural networks can lead to organic disease; here I will mention only gastric ulcer, hyperthyroidism, and essential hypertension. In any case, depressed people in their real depressive episode also have the pressure projected on an organ, which is then usually shown with typical gestures, as if they want to forcefully tear something away from the body - a gesture that is never shown when someone experiences real organ pain. Point 3 (Personality change): The alienation in the facial expression and in the way of speaking is typical in all true psychoses. It often disappears immediately as soon as the episode is over. Point 4 (concentration weakness): This disturbance in the ability to concentrate is only to be regarded as an accompanying phenomenon, but it is perceived by those affected as extremely annoying. It may be traced through a state we all know: If we have a very strong emotion that we do not necessarily want to show outwardly, such as grief or being in love, this feeling creeps into every appropriate and inappropriate gap in our concentration. One has a sensation suddenly as if "standing beside" of oneself. In this way, the concentration of disorder of depression must be understood.
Point 5 (Sleep disorders): In the sleep disturbance of the depressive and their therapeutic difficulty of influencing the affliction lies the strongest indication of otherworldly activity. The otherworldly person needs no sleep. Only the gross material brain needs sleep. So, the poor depressed person lies down to bed dead-tired. He may succeed in falling into a deep dreamless sleep for an hour or two, only to wake up from the phase of dream-sleep as if whipped up, with the most despicable fears which are connected/ projected to the daily problems.
We know from sleep research that REM sleep (Rapid Eye Movement) is the dream sleep. To explain: In sleep the connection of the soul with the gross body is loosened, and it can receive pictorial insights into the dream from other levels. Even if these images are not remembered in day consciousness, they cling to the depth of the soul and give it inner security. All real, good ideas have been created here in this REM phase, during sleep. A permanent interruption or disturbance of the REM sleep can lead to the complete collapse of a person, which has been proven by sleep research.
But the relaxation of the soul from the body during sleep is a stage in which not only good otherworldly influences reach the soul of the sleeper particularly easily, but that also applies to disturbing, burdensome influences - if the prerequisites for this are there. It is not for nothing that affected, depressed people, are afraid to go to sleep. Sleep therapy of the right kind and knowledge is therefore essential to stop the destructive effects of depression.
Point 6 (hopelessness): It is a hard experience for anyone who wants to say to a depressed a kind word coming from a loving heart. Like a prayer wheel, he hears words that want to express the meaning of something like this: "Nobody can help me. And you do not understand me either, whoever has not had it himself does not understand it!' The depressive does not understand himself, despite the absolute reality of his suffering. This not-understanding-oneself is a fact that aggravates his pain. Suicide is then often the terminus that appears as the only solution. About the sad topic of suicide one could write a lot more, but even then, one would never do justice to the individual and his suffering, which causes him to react and pushes him to this unnatural reaction. Of course, there are also forms that can arise from a short-circuit action, because a person is overwhelmed by severe suffering. But most of the suicides it is slowly building, the danger is smoldering behind a civilized facade. The gaze behind it often fails to be discovered even for the trained professional.
Now, the explanations of the six characteristics of true psychosis contain many thoughts that may seem new and strange to some readers. It is worthwhile, however, not only for the therapists but also for those affected and their caregivers, to understand this train of thought once, step by step. Then there is the question in the room: What to do to help! The medical aid campaign has two parts:
1. Interruption of otherworldly activities. This succeeds with the well-known psychotropic drugs, the blockades sit here on important transmission lines particularly on the brain stem. Similar effects have the electric shock treatments that are less used today. (The effect of blocking the otherworldly influence could be directly perceived by clairvoyant and medial people.) This part of the medical activity belongs to the big area of the emergency treatment. Every doctor is required to assist in a psychiatric emergency, as he must do so according to the law for the protection of life. 2. Guiding of the patient after the depressive episode subsides. The activity of the physician would have to begin here, an action which demands great but loving severity the personal commitment of the patient to master his questions of life. The most significant difficulty I see is that, according to many patients and therapists, the cessation of a depressive episode after taking psychotropic drugs already mean the cure. In the same way that the patient, for example, demands that his cold is treated, he also demands the disappearance of his mental symptoms as quickly as possible, inconspicuously and without his own personal commitment.
In contrast, the actual treatment of a mental illness that can lead to healing is all that was discussed at the beginning of this part about depression. This treatment calls for the arousal of the spiritual core in humans, which indeed was not awake enough. Because only in very rare cases such episodes come through physical illnesses or weaknesses developing to full depression. Especially with large blood losses and shifts in the blood emission through massive doses of drugs or hormones, or some other lack in the blood, the mood can tip over into the depressive. But otherwise, it is generally true that only a tired and weak spirit influences the blood radiation so poorly that it can lead to a depressed mood or even to otherworldly influence. All these things do not happen without previous misconduct, even if this only shows itself in spiritual laxity. However, I am convinced that the healers, who work for the well-being of their patients, receive so much help that they could move mountains with it, as it is also prophesied to the ones who have true faith.
But the same trust, the same confidence in the help must be expected from the sick as well. Because it is indeed a very personal coordinated interaction of dosed shielding measures by medication and psychic self-work, supported by small emotional crutches (“My life is not so difficult, every day something happens that I can rejoice in”). But even the sick must also be prepared to name the sorrow by name, which he likes to hide behind excuses and extenuation. Very often these are disappointed hopes that someone has put into a person or a thing - professional or family and friendship. All these failures, especially for their protection, hide behind a masque or a veil, and it is difficult to discern the ill-making potentials; at least not for the victim himself, who believes in the excuses he has invented for a person or a thing at the end.
But somewhere, deep down in the depth of the soul, lies the knowledge of authenticity and deceit, and if this knowledge is there also primarily buried, it still causes tensions.
Health and harmony can never arise in such life situations. Since many people seek to get along with their life lies, one need not be surprised how widespread is the grip of those psychotropic drugs that rank under the heading: Brightener, Relaxer, and Tranquilizer. As an illustration of the effect of these medications considers the following: we see growing weeds in front of our house. To remove the plants means hard effort; you have to bend down, pick it up and throw it away. But then it's gone. The other way is to build a fence in front of the weeds, then it does not bother us anymore, but grows wild behind the wall. In the long run, it becomes more and more difficult to take away the artificial fence because the wilderness has become so big that we cannot control it anymore, which would not have been the case with daily weeding.
That's just a picture. But does not it show a frightening resemblance to all those who cannot live without their daily dose of psychotropic drugs? I'm talking about the very "harmless" medicines that are swallowed by millions of people each day to give them a slightly pinker pair of glasses. Even conventional medicine has recognized that continuous taking of so-called tranquilizers makes people unable to bear their everyday problems without this protection. Many therapists also warn against the removal of the suffering of the affected person, because the patient no longer tries to solve upcoming problems on their own.
So much is certain: The medical help may only remedy the emergency. The most important part is the introduction to self-regulation. The less passive the therapy (medication), the more the patient has the feeling that he is not alienated from his nature. The patient can only think thoughts that have power when his “ego” is not alienated or distorted. Without a full self-awareness, there can be no real happiness.
If I labeled depression like a disease of our time, then I see the reason for it in today's world of thought, which in my conviction has a retroactive effect. The abomination of this world of thought is what we often feel. If, on the other hand, we are lukewarm, or we are indifferent, or we lack the courage to work with our opposing will, it can happen that the surrounding streams carry us along. But when we are aware of our power and when we use it purposefully for a proper and benevolent will, then we can be protected and stand as sure as the proverbial rock in the sea. Let's start immediately with the constructive thoughts, and we will experience on a daily basis that visible and invisible aids pave our way to life so securely that we can walk it step by step, even if sometimes it appears to be arduous and stony.
